“When we started thinking about IM, we knew that it would be better than telephone and email in many situations, and would allow us conferencing and application sharing. This would be very useful for us, because some clients supported the use of persistent state documents”, assures Ceri Morgan, CEO of MagicNet.
Requirements
Since most of the clients of the company were using some of the major public IMs, MagicNet considered that the firm needed an instant messaging solution able to interoperate with MSN, Yahoo, AOL and ICQ messengers, since asking every customer to use the same IM solution was not a valid option
Security was also another important consideration, because the company and its clients would be exchanging confidential information all the time. In addition, pricing was a third key issue when deciding which IM solution was the most convenient to meet MagicNet's needs.
